Welcome to the home of Irish Disc Golf
All Ireland Disc Golf Association
All Ireland Disc Golf Association (AIDGA) is the national head organization of disc golf in Ireland. The goal of AIDGA and its operation is to promote disc golf as a hobby, organize disc golf activities in Ireland and grow the sport.
We got the opportunity to introduce Disc golf to Ireland by having a segment on Ireland AM show. This was a great opportunity to display what is disc golf is about, how it’s played, how easy it is to get into it and have a lot of fun. Get in touch to find out more.

Who can play disc golf?
Disc golf is designed to be enjoyed by people of all ages, gender identity, and economic status, making it a great lifetime fitness activity. Because disc golf is so easy to learn, no one is excluded; players merely match their pace to their capabilities and proceed from there.
The AIDGA came together as result of a diverse group of like-minded players realizing the potential that Ireland, both North and South has for the sport. Working together with players, communities, educators and other stakeholders, we plan to make disc golf as accessible and exciting as we can. Hopefully you’ll come along for the adventure.
What is disc golf?
If you’re asking this question and don’t know yet you’re in for a treat! It’s simple- throw a disc from the tee to the basket in as few throws as possible. Make a throw, walk to the spot your disc landed then throw again until your disc hits the chains and falls into the basket.
You play on a course which might have 9 or 18 holes with each hole presenting a different challenge in shape, elevation and obstacles. Some will be tree lined, others might be over water or under a low canopy. You’ll learn different shots and strategies in no time and be rattlin’ chains from far out.
The winner? Whoever scores the lowest and is having the most fun!
20 million rounds of disc golf were played in 2024
Across the globe more and more people are discovering disc golf with growing numbers, creating greater interest than ever before. We can see disc golf courses outnumbering ball golf courses in Finland.
Huge disc golf education programs like EDGE are spreading the word in junior sport whilst national and international top level athletes compete at the edge of the sport with media coverage like never before.
At the core of what we do as players - it’s clear that having players out on courses throwing discs grows the sport… and maybe makes the world a better place. That’s why getting baskets installed in new locations is a top level priority for the AIDGA alongside the task of introducing disc golf into the hearts and minds of new players where ever we can.
